Annual Charity
Each year we support a Charity.
Normally we do this by giving a weekends skippered Charter away to be sold for the Charity. Sometimes our racing team also chips in.
In 2009 we helped Stuart Walker with his fund raising efforts for NSPCC, Avert Aids and Water for Kids. He raised about £6000 in total for them.
In 2010 we will be assisted Watchett Sea Scouts. and Bishops Lydeard AFC
We have already had 4 trips introducing 15 Scouts and 4 Leaders to sailing a 40′ yacht and 5 completed their Competent Crew. I have been impressed by the enthusiam of the Scouts, by the amount of food they can eat (unfortunately in some cases far too many sweets) and by the patience of the leaders.
In 2011 we have supported the Sea Scouts again, Dene barton Community Hospital, Bishops Lydeard AFC plus our Fastnet team donated £500 to sail 4 cancer as part of a fund raising effort by Jon Burgess
